Known as Conversations & Celebrations, the genesis for these evenings was Lt.-Gov. Filmon’s desire to not only honour the 135th birthday of Government House, but to also have the opportunity to proudly welcome Manitobans into their ceremonial home, many for the first time.

Passionate about being a “community connector”, and relentlessly celebrating this wonderful province and its people, Lieutenant Governor Janice C. Filmon launched a free, public event series at Government House in May of 2018.

In her ongoing desire to find meaningful ways to bring Manitobans together to learn, and to celebrate unique talents, abilities and perspectives by embracing the rich diversity of this province and its people, these evenings feature presentations and entertainment from fascinating individuals and groups from across the province. A short coffee reception after each program allows guests and presenters further opportunity to engage.

Her Honour’s vision is that – regardless of topic – these evenings be impactful, and that guests leave at the end of the evening with a deeper sense of pride in being a Manitoban, inspired to make a difference in their own communities, large and small.

Events take place on the second Tuesday of each month, with the exception of July, August and December.

Doors open at 6:30 pm, with the program beginning at 7:00 pm. The evening wraps up by 8:30 pm. Everyone is welcome!

Those wishing to attend must register in advance by calling 204-945-2753. Registration opens 2 weeks prior to each event, and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
